The word photography originates from two Greek words fotos which means light and graphy meaning drawing, writing. Literally, it can be translated as; “to paint with light.” In current speech, briefly, the term image is used.
The official date of the invention of photography is 1839, when Daguerre presented the invention he called “daguerreotype”. It is a simple improvement of the discovery made by Niepce, who had tried to invent the first camera. The owner of the invention became the French state.
